I have a Sony KV-27TS27 TV, after it has run for some time some of the
channels switch to black and white by themselves, usually in less than
5 minutes they return to color. It doesn't ever do it on channels below
20. It is hooked up to cable. Also many channels will freeze up for
several minutes. I have tried another TV on this cable and it is fine.

Wow!! I thought someone would have an idea what was wrong, guess I'll look elsewhere....
Sorry sydster, I did not see you. First we need to conferm how the cable is connected? Is it through a video or the RF antenna jack? If its throuhg a vidio jack or HDMI cable, you have a video processor problem, and this is going to be a bad processor IC or a bad connection on the IC. if its through the rf or antenna jack, and I have seen this before, the tuner is the fault, and needs to be replaced. let us know how you made out and if you had it fixed. Do you have an idea how much this should cost?
depending on the problem.. If it is a video problem most likly around 150 to 225.00 and a tuner would run about 150 to 200.00
