Have an old 12" I use in the bedroom which has been problem free upto recently when suddenly the sound stopped working. Being about 20 years old I wouldn't want to invest a lot in repairing it but wouldn't want to trash an otherwise good set. Any idea as to what the problem may be? It is a Sony Trinitron Model # JY160352.Carmen
.A set from 20 years ago had an audio output IC that was combinded with the power regulator IC. This would cost you, if the IC was available, around 85 to 100 bucks to repair. Definatly not worth it, as I just saw a 13" color set, in Walmart, two weeks ago for $59.00. Good Luck! Let us know if you bought a new set or had this one fixed.
