Ok, please bear with me as I am completely tech illiterate. I tend to use words like doohickey and thingy on a regular basis. My apologies. I am at your mercy.
So...I have a 60 inch Proscan that I believe to be around 6-8 years old (purchased used a few years back). For months, every time I would turn it off, I would have the damndest time getting it to turn back on and STAY on. It would take FOREVER to get it to stay on. My solution? Only turn off the power via the cable box and leave the TV running indefinitely. Stupid, but it worked for me. UNTIL my daughter's boyfriend accidentally turned it off (we make him stay on the porch now). Now it won't turn back on at all. If I push the power button I can here it click-click-clicking in the back, trying to turn back on, but it simply will not.
Does this sound like something worth repairing, or should I just let this beast rest in peace?
