I have a 32 inch LCD Tobisha Televison. Recently a thin blue line about six inches long has appeared at the top of my screen. Does anyone know how this could have been cause, and how much it might cost to have it repaired.

When a single or several lines apear up and down on a TFT set, it is most likely a bad connection between the driver IC and the LCD display, like on a ribbon cable or ribbon cable socket, a bad driver IC itself, or worst case, the LCD display. Cost would depend on the problem, and Im guessing $250.00 To $1200.00. I do not mean to startle you, but, I have seen LCD displays cost more then the set does. There are some cases that you can disassemble the case around the LCD and get a number off of it and goggle that number and see if the display is available from another source, that is if it is determind that the display is defective.
