Need any assistance/guidance available, please. Stumbled on TechLore webpage which looks like a great site!
I have a Sony Wega 25" CRT TV, model #KV-24FV12 (with local cable subscription). The past 3 weeks, when turning on set w/remote, the sound is OK but the picture flashes on/off every 2 seconds with red standby TV light flashing. Obviously, cannot view programs (or I'd end up with a seizure!).
TV is only 6 years old, everything else works fine. Cable TV company came out just to check hookup to cable and could not detect a problem there.
I am unable to take (lift) the TV to take in for repair myself and the one local TV (Sony authorized repair here in Michigtan) said this is a fixable problem, but $100+ just to come out, etc. etc. Thought I'd get TechLore's ideas first.
Any comments on what this problem may be or if readers think this "is" fixable? Thanks and have a great day!
Having the same issue when my neighbor gives me a hand I am taking it to the service center.
Resolder dry joints or cold solder all over the power suplly
