Hi, I'm new to this great forum.
Request help with Sony K21MB42P, powers on but only noise and sandy image...then turns off after approx. 6 seconds. I suspect EEPROM. Any ideas, your input is highly appreciated! A schematic diagram would be great.

Regards & blessings.
I doubt if the eeprom would cause this but you can never tell. I dont see that model on my list. Is it a non US model? Also a sony will start with a KV or KM not just a "k." I think your problem lies in the main power supply or the sweep supply, and is most likly a capacitor thats dried up.. Yes I agree you will need to get a schematic, but as I said I do not have one and I do not reconize the model number. If you have solid state experience then you should have no problem finding out what power supply is bad, but if you do not have any solid state repair experience, you should npt be experimenting around inside of a TV set. Let us know how you made out and Good Luck
Hey Larry, thanks for your answer. You are absolutely right, TV model is KV-21MB42P/8 with chassis BA-4D. I'll follow your tips on checking for dried capacitor and/or other bad parts, but certainly will appreciate the schematic . This might take me some time since I only dedicate part of the weekends. Will inform you of the outcome.
Hi dear colleagues...Any reply?
Thanks.
For Larry Dillon. Could you get me the schematic diagram or service manual for this model KV-21MB42P/8?
Thanks in advance!
If its a be-4 chassis I have one to share with you send me the chassis number man

I found a ba-4 chassis for you . Hope this helps. BTW it is written very simalar in the sony bulliten to. I took both and wrote the facts. We have alot of peeps that wanted to know so i gave it to them.
Thanks, with this chassis and the blinking led codes info I should be able to solve the problem. Will reply with updates.
