I have a Sony KP53V15 , the settings on the britness menu are
all the way down and the picture is still to brite. I had the tv worked
on for a differnt problem and when the set was returned I tried to
adjust the picture and could not get the britness down. When I asked
the tv tech. he said that would be another call.My queston is, is there
a Master brtiness control somewhere on the inside of the tv to bring
the britness down
Thanks

I think you are being railroaded Rene52. If you have a set fixed by a shop it must come back in good working order, unless they told you at the time of repair that there was another problem and did you want it fixed. Sounds like the tech did not know how to adjust the set, as he was most likly a pick up and delivery guy, as thats what TV shops do now a days, at least most of them. I would call them back and demand that they put your set in working order that you paid them to do. If they refuse, report them to your local consumer affairs agency or the state attorneys office. There are three screen controls to adjust as well as a master brightness but it is not for the consumer or user to adjust and I could not tell you where they are, as I do not have a service manual. Let us know how you made out and Good Luck
Thanks for the response Larry, when I bought the tv I got free
lifetime labor and it cost me 10% for parts, all I pay for is a service
charge which is $60.00. The tv is 13 years old and thay will only fix
what you called them for,the problem was with the convergence and he
could not fix at my house so he took to the shop, when he brought it
back thats when I told him about the britness and he told me I would
have to have him come back and pay another service charge. The store I
bought it from does not have that type of warranty any more. They only
carry 5 year extentded warranties.Thats way I asked the question about
the master britness.
