Sony Handycam model CCD-TR840E

Help needed  My camcorder will not work at all, I thought it was the battery so I bought a new one.  Still no joy, it is completely dead.  I have checked the output from the charger this is ok.  I am wondering if there is an internal fuse ?  can anybody help.

Thankyou  Barry2

There are a few intenal fuses

There are a few intenal fuses, but they are the type of mini fuses that you have most likly ever seen. They are small inline chemical fuses that looks like a small, In line package, That descrete transistors use. Most people call them pico fuses.   You also cannot look at it and see or tell that its open. It must be checked with a powered continuity checker, or a multimeter, on the resistance scale. On the sony camcorder, there is the main power fuse inside right behind the DC power jack. If you wish to attempt to take this unit apart, let me be the first to say, it is not a walk in the park. If you have never taken one apart. There are flex cables connecting the boards and switches all together and on most camcorders, they must be taken out or unplugged, and they are very easy to break or crack. My advice is contact one of the service links Im leaving for you, as they will give you an estimate on what you describe on the estimate sheet. Good Luck, and please let us know how everything turned out. http://www.videoonerepair.com/ Or http://www.videotech.com/ http://www.camcorderrepair.com/
