Hey Experts!
I own a Sony mini-DVD camcorder thaht records in something called a .VOB format. It is not compatible with the importable formats accepted by my Cyberlink PowerDirector movie editing software. How can I get past this glitch? Can I somehow save my Sony mini-DVD movies in an acceptable format (.mpe, .mpeg, etc.) so that I can then edit them using my PowerDirector? Thanks for your help!

A .VOB is just an mpeg in DVD structure. You can extract the full mpg with a number of free tools. To edit, you don't want to CUT that portion of video, you want to CHANGE it, so the video length stays the same as the audio. Most any non-linear editor will do that. Vegas, Pinnacle, Ulead, Sonic, etc. See if this link will help you. Let us know if you need more assistance. Good Luck http://www.dvdripguides.com/dvdrip1a.php
