I don't know if anyone can help but my tv seemed to go on standby(dont know if my 3 yr old touched anything on the remote) and the green light under the power(red) started flashing constantly.
I dont seem to be able to do anything with it, I've tried unplugging and no difference when I put it back on.
would love some advice!
If you tryed to leave it unplugged for 12 to 24 hours, and you get the same results, then theres a problem in the regulator circuit, and/or the sweep power supply. Sorry, but in this set there is no quick fix. These sets are all solid state and all the parts are soldered into a printed circuit board so there are no user replaceable parts in this set. Best thing for you to do if unplugging it over a time did not help, is to call in an Authorized Toshiba repair person or service center. Let us know how you made out. Good Luck
Inherited a Mitsubishi CS2002R (circa 1992) 19" color TV. Picture is good, but sound barely audible. I suspect there is a lot of dust inside the cabinet; could this be the cause of poor sound? I read there was a huge recall on Mitsubishi TVs due to fire hazard around 1998-2000, but don't know if this model was one of the culprits.
Is this set worth trying to repair? Thanks for any advice or tips.
Artemis, No, I dont see any fire hazard recall notices on this model. I do see however that this model was good for having a bad speaker, a bad sound output IC or a coupling capacitor to cause a low sound problem.. Its highly unlikly that the dust will solve your problem. As a matter of fact I have seen in the past where consumers would clean out the sets and cause problems to arise. let us know if you solved this problem, and Good Luck
