It really depends on how old the set is. If the set is over 10 years old, then most likly the crts are getting weak, the capacitors in the power supply are drying up and makeing less b+ voltage to make the circuits run right, and or the set needs a good cleaning of the lens and mirrors. If you know how to work on solid state electronics, then this could be a nice project set to overhaul and restore as I did to a 18 year old PhillipsMagnavox TV set. It took alot of time, but the set now looks new. If you can supply all the labor yourself, it does not cost that much really for most parts. If you dont know how to read a schematic or repair circuit boards, then its most likly time to put the set to rest and purchace a new one. If the set is less then 6 years old, it will probably need the attention of a trained tech to sort out all the differance symtoms as they may all be related, like bad capacitors or a power supply repair.
