I have a Toshiba 27inch tube tv (model 27A45C) with 2 video inputs. I tried connecting a Samsung DVD/VCR combo into INPUT 1 using the red/white/yellow cables. The DVD works fine but the VCR has no video, however the audio works fine. The VCR tv channels also have no video but the audio works fine. When I set it to VCR I hear the audio but the Samsung DVD display is always showing on the screen.
I then connected the DVD/VCR combo into INPUT 2 and everything works fine. The strange part is, the DVD also works when I set my TV to Video 1 even though nothing is connected to INPUT 1. This is bad because I can't connect anything else into INPUT 1, the DVD over-rides anything that is connected into it.
Has anyone seen this before, any recommendations? Thanks
If the VCR has no video its probably a head cleaning issue. Try running a wet type VCR head cleaner through the unit. If no help you could have a bad head. Take the unit into a repair shop at this point. Good Luck
