TV Shopping Help?

I have been considering a new TV, for the living room, lately and maybe you guys can help with some questions I have.
First - what I have right now and what I am thinking...

Sony 51" rear projection - about 6 years old.
Sony ES-9000s pre-Amp setup.
TiVo - S2, with Cox Cable.

I have been waiting to upgrade to HD, because I like the TiVo and they have not had an HD capable version. That is changing with the new S3, which is coming out soon. So I will probably get an S3 for the living room and Cox HD. So what I am thinking of, is getting a TV that will handle this and allow me to stay current with changing technology for at least the next few years.

The qualifications I would have for the new TV would be:

  • Similar in size to my old one (51")
  • Compatible and utilize to the fullest Cox HD and TiVo S3
  • Cabinet size, Flat screen, etc does not matter very much. I have plenty of room and don't need to impress folks by having a flat screen, just the picture.:)
  • Room is very bright during the day.
  • Sound from TV doesn't matter, will use current audio setup, until can afford new Pre-Amp.
  • Audio/Video switching from Pre-Amp doesn't matter either. Can run video to TV, audio to pre-amp.
  • Needs to have componet in for current DVD player, HDMI for TiVo.
  • Brand name doesn't mean anything to me, quality does.

Of course price always means something, so just don't want to go out and buy the most expensive thing out there. But I don't want to save $500 now and not have what I want in 6 months either.

I have looked at a couple things, like this mitsu. http://www.ultimateavmag.com/rearproj... />
and the LG

But want to get you guy's input based on my qualifications. So what do you think?

Wow, no input from anyone.

Wow, no input from anyone. Going shopping tomorrow, to see what Holiday sales are out there. I'll let you know what I come up with.
