Toshiba CN27D90--no sound or pict.

I have a 1994 27'' Toshiba CN27D90.  I just experienced a power outage--the tv just made clicking noises when the power went out.  When I plugged it in about an hour later, it would turn on but just got snowy screen.  Can't even watch videos or DVDs on it.

Is it time to take it to the repair shop or throw it out?

I'm having a similar problem

I'm having a similar problem with my Toshiba 57H84 that is approx 27 months old. Almost every time there is a power outage, however brief, the picture and sound would go out ... sometimes for days. Then one day we'd turn it on and everything was fine. Recently the sound has been going out ... for no apparent reason. One minute it's working and we're watching tv, the next minute ....no sound! And it might stay this way for several days. Then we'll turn it and and voila!  all is fine. Any ideas???  It's driving us crazy!!

If it is that old, I would

If it is that old, I would say it is time for a shopping trip my friend. This set sounds like the tuner or the tuner processor is bad, and the cost to repair it, if parts are available, would probably cost more then a new 27" TV set. Good Luck
