two or three years ago, we had digital cable installed for our
Toshiba 42H82 HDTV. immediately thereafter, we began experiencing
problems with losing picture. consistently what will happen after
watching the tv for a couple of minutes or so, the picture will begin
to cut out. sound is never affected, but the picture will
continue to go in and out until we turn it off.
in trying
to fix this, we've called tv people, who have told us it's a cable
problem; and then cable people, who tell us it's a tv
problem.
after doing that runaround a couple of
times, the cable company finally brought someone who explained that
these Toshibas have notoriously been having problems with communicating
to cable boxes. he reprogrammed something on the back of the tv
and the problem went away.
...brief happiness, and then...
a
couple of months ago, we decided to go with an all-in-one package from
our cable provider. upon installing the all-in-one, the tv went
back to square one with the picture going out. we were also then flung
back into the infuriating cable's problem/tv's problem runaround.
Would
anyone out there have any idea what the guy who originally fixed it
might have done? what kind of reprogramming would be associated
with communicating to a cable box? Anything at all would help.
thanks
