zenith mod.sms2053s color TV

Picture is good, but can,t adjust red-green.  I assume it is a ic that has gone bad, maybe a resistor or two.  Does anyone know how to  troubleshoot this without a color generator or other expensive gear normally found in a TV repair shop?
