RCA HDTV dead

I have a RCA HDTV, model # P61310, which won't power on.   My phone was disconnected, but only the DirecTV should be affected if I wanted to order PPV or for updates from DirecTV.  However, the TV won't power on at all, not by remote or by using the power button on the TV itself.  My phone service has been restored, but the TV is still dead.  Everything else, lights, computer, etc., is working.  What could be wrong with the TV?  I unplugged it for over a half an hour (the manual suggested five minutes) but still no power.  I also tried using another outlet although a light I tried on the outlet to which the TV was connected worked.  This means I can't watch VHS or DVDs, either.  Does anyone have any suggestions for what to try next?
