My Teac makes a popping noise then cuts out and displays protect. I have checked the speaker wires and they are ok and not crossed. Have been looking for a dealer repais shop here in Anchorage Alaska . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tday

Hi tday, I'm not aware of any

Hi tday,

I'm not aware of any dealers in your area authorized to repair TEAC products. However, TEAC can repair the unit if you ship it to them. I got the following info from the TEAC support site: http://www.teac.com/consumer_electron...

To have your unit(s) serviced at the TEAC Factory Service Department, please follow the instructions below:

  • No Return Authorization (RMA) is needed.

  • Carefully pack and box the unit and ship insured for the proper replacement value.

  • For IN warranty repairs, be sure to include a COPY of your dated sales receipt.

  • Include with the unit your full name and mailing address, telephone number and/or email address.

  • A full description of the problem and work required.

  • Upon arrival of the unit, we will send you a "Confirmation of Receipt" notice.

  • If the repairs are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty, we will provide you with a written estimate of the repair costs once the technician has inspected the unit.

It's just that you have to

It's just that you have to many watts in the speakers that your stereo can't handle that amount. That unit can't only put out 440 watts. I have the same problem with mine it just keeps it from burning up.
