I have a Sony Compact AV System DAV-FC7. I mistakenly set "component out" in "screen setup" to "progressive" the menu immediately disappeared and I can only see a blue screen during disk play. Troubleshooting says to set the "scan select" switch to "Interlace", of course without an onscreen menu there is no switching. Anyone have any suggestions?
During the light of day I found the selectability switch on the back of the device. Switching from selectable to interlace solved my missing menu problem. At least I found this interesting forum. I'll be back to visit :)
Glad to see you figured it out! Sometimes walking away from a troubled device and approaching it fresh is all you need to figure it out.
