I have a Sony MZ NHF-800 Hi-Md Walkman minidisc player. Is there a way to increase the volume output(besides turning up the volume control) on the unit? Failing that, is there a set of headphones that could significantly increase the volume?
Thank you for your help.

Are you maxed out on the volume control, but still want to go louder?
Yes, the volume control is maxed out.

The only portable device I'm aware of that will boost a headphone output with any success would be product called the Boostaroo
. I've never actually used one, but I've heard others have had some success. If you do pick one up, be careful. I'd hate for you to damage your hearing.
Another option would be to invest in a pair of new headphones that are either noise-cancelling (they will seem louder), or have a higher sensitvity rating than the ones you're currently using.
