sony cd player problem CMT-L7HD

hi i have the above system and it suddenly stopped working it wont turn on. The stand by / on off button is flashing red instead of the usual solid red and it wont tun on when pressed. Everything is plugged in and was working in the same place a couple of days ago.
Just wondering if anyone knew what the problem might be
Any suggestions would be much apreciated
