When I came home yesterday I went to turn the tv on..At first I had a green power button light but it was making a hissing buzzing noise from the back..There was no picture either..Then I cut it off and went to turn it back on .The green pwer light does not come on but it still makes that sound from the back..It is an rca tv only 4 years old..What could be wrong? Anything I can reset?? Thanks, Patti
A hissing sound is most likely the High voltage block or flyback arching, or it could be the high voltage wire or suction cup, or the crt socket could also be arching. This is very very high voltage, so pleae stay safe and do not even open the set or let anyone open it unless they are a trained tech and know the high voltage safety issues involved here. Call in a pro to assist you with this TV set. Good Luck and let us know what you find out from the pro.
If you resolved your "no picture or no sound" problem, what was the procedure to troubleshooting and repairing this problem??
