MSC series 3260 sterio

My 1980 ( plus or minus ) JC Penny MCS series 3260 sterio receiver stopped working suddenly. When the power switch is place ON after a couple seconds delay a soft "click" can be heard in the vicinity of the power coil (?). There are 3 tubular fuses that all look good after a close inspection. Is this a power supply problem or something that can be simply replaced? Any help would be great. mjmulia
