Sony KV27EXR15 channel learning w/o remote

Greetings,

I have a Sony KV27EXR15 but no remote. I have a generic remote that will perform some functions but I need to make it search for new channels as I have changed locations. Are there any methods to do this w/o buying an expensive remote? Would one of the Sony generic remotes have this capability?
