Potential problem with Toshiba 36 inch tube

Hi , I posted my problem on another thread, sorry, new to this board.
I have a 5 year old Toshiba 36 inch TV monitor, model CN36Z71. I`ve always liked the picture on this tv except for recently. One morning, I turned on the TV and got this ``flash`` like response. No picture came on, as if the ``on`` did not catch 100%. I then proceeded to press the on button again and picture came on.

However, ever since, I am noticing an increasingly disturbing green, dull, shade to my picture on most channels. Occasionally, the picture is what it used to be but now more of that green shade, grey shade on most days . No livliness to the color anymore, skin tone not looking good either. Did something possible burn out when I got that ``flash`` from the screen ?

I have been calling service centers here in Montreal but nobody will give me the time of day unless I request a home service for which they will charge like $70 !
Can anyone help ?
