DVD Red Flash

I've had a problem with intermittant red flashing (or color shift) on two different DVD players on a Sharp television. The flashes are brief and vary in frequency.

I'm using component connections, and I've scoured the open internet and can't find anyone discussion this problem.

I'd love to know how to track this issue down.

I know you said you scoured the open internet, but it looks like you may have missed the article I posted on this very topic back in February 2005 ;-), but since your picture is flashing to the red side, I'd say your problem is that the Pb connection is loose or intermittent.
