Answering machine problem

I have a Panasonic KX-TG5240 5.8Ghz cordless telephone with one handset. I am having problems with the answering machine and can't seem to figure out what the problem is.

Whenever someone tries to leave a message on the system, it will go thru the pre-recorded message, then the beep will sound, and then the phone will hang up immediately.

I have deleted all the previous messages (in case the flash memory card was full), made sure the phone was not set on "greeting only", reset the answering machine (pressing STOP-LOCATOR-MAILBOX 3), switched the location of the phone in the house, and called Panasonic for thier assistance but still can't get the phone to record any messages.

Any ideas on how to fix the problem? I know it is a simple fix and don't want to send it in for repair if I can do it myself.

I have a KXTG2343 Pansonic cordless telephone and answering machine. Messages left are not being recorded and picked up by machine. What do you think the problem is? Have checked everything out seems o.k. New Member ralphjenkins576@comcast.net

I have the same problem with the Motorola MD7161.  I've tried two different machines and both failed to record calls on the answering machine.  I think it has something to with the "Announce only" feature, but the phone says it's turned off.  Plus, the message I recorded for the greeting never gets played...just the one that comes with the machine.

 Any ideas would be appreciated.

I also have an answering machine problem with my panasonic KX-TG2432AL.  My recording time for answering messages is set on 3mins but only allows 5 seconds.  I have tried everything.  Anyone else had this type of problem?

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Now my KX-TG5240 is having exactly the same issue as the OP.

I am continually experiencing

I am continually experiencing my clients telling me that while they are leaving me a voicemail, they are disconnected. The system does not do this for every voicemail left. It seems random in nature. I have been sitting at my desk and have heard it happen. Just today a freight company called and she could not even get 2 words left before being disconnected. When I spoke to her, she advised it had happened a few times today to her.

My system is Panasonic KX-TGA410B. This is a real problem for me that my customers experience this frustrating situation. It does not portray my company in a very professional manner either.

As cheap as answering

As cheap as answering machines are these days get a newer digital one and see if it still does it, if it does contact your local phone provider.
