DVD no picture

i have a compacks dvd 8005 when i set it up to a sharp tele i get audio but no video i used s-video and video cord nothing is working also my camcorder is not able to give viewable playback on same tele is without color and lines verticaly over the screen

the products are form the UK and im in ther caribbean plaese help
