problem with pioneer xv-htd510

the drive wont lift up to pick up the dvd, it opens and closes and its not jammed or anything because i can spin the motor with my finger and raise and lower it but it wont do it on its own and the motor works so i am totally stumped

any help would be greatly appreciated
