HELP, I JUST GOT A NEW (TO ME) RCA VCR AND IT'S ONLY GOING UP TO CH. 13. WE'VE TRIED EVERYTHING WE CAN THINK OF. WE DON'T HAVE THE ORIGINAL REMOTE BUT WE'VE GOT A UNIVERSAL ONE. I HOOKED THIS VCR UP THE SAME AS MY LAST. ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS?

Both analog cable and broadcast TV are identical up to channel 13. At 14 and up, broadcast TV switches to UHF frequencies, while cable remains VHF.
You need to tell the VCR whether or not you have connected cable or an aerial antenna to the coaxial input on the back of the VCR. Look for this setting in the VCR's menu, provided you can access the menu without the original remote.
