MP3 is write protected

I did a firmware upgrade on my IItronics imp11 MP3 player and now it is write protected. The screen comes up blue with no words or symbols. I've reinstalled the drivers to the computer to no avail. (here I thought upgrading was the smart thing to do!) How do I undo the write protection?

Have a look over at ... http:

Have a look over at ... http://s1mp3.secret.com.br/en/index.php

I have just recently backed up the firmware from my perfectly working iMP-11 512MB and sent it to them but it is not listed in their firmware archive yet.

Their forum (http://s1mp3.secret.com.br/forum/) is a good place to ask for specific help about firmware for your player. Although the model name is iMP-11 it is actually manufactured using a generic Chinese circuit board called an s1mp3 player ... when you launched your firmware upgrade program it would have said s1mp3 on there ... it probably now just asks for a recovery file.

Hope this helps ;)

PS. I put a link up on the forum to my firmware file dump but it is not a recovery file so you'd be best to ask them how to use it to restore your player ... or return the player to the shop and shrug your shoulders when they ask what happened to it ;)

I had been to that website

I had been to that website and didn't find anything. So.....took it back to the store...and hey....the new one works great! Thanks for answering, I appreciate it.
