I own a Magnavox Widescreen HDTV model; 30MW5405. My problem is that whenever I watch a HD program, I get grey letterboxes. Instead of filling the widescreen, it stretches it and has the grey on top and bottom of the screen. It is very annoying. Is there a way of changing this? I don't enjoy my HDTV shows this way at. :(
How do you receive your HDTV programs? Do you have a cable box or satellite box?

Many HD cable boxes have a setting in the menu to indicate the shape of your display. Most likely, your box thinks you have a 4:3 shaped HDTV. Find the setting in the setup menu, and change it to reflect your widescreen display. Widescreen HD programs should then appear without grey letterbox bars.
