Yes, there must be a major design problem with these models, as we are dealing with this for the second time in less than a year. In March 2005, Zenith replaced the "light engine" -- a part that retails for over $3500. The problem has returned and the diagnosis/solution is the same. Am now hassling with Zenith to replace the part again or replace the TV. Not likely they will do either. Good luck!
It is a problem with the LCD's. I had the optical engine replaced, with a factory built. My tech told me the problem is caused by to much heat. The engine is the same for the Zenith and LG. On a good note it does come with a new Lamp saved me 300.00. And I looked at the invoice for the entire engine assemble. The engine is 740.00 total but they do charge a core charge. The have to change all the boards over. Took the guy like 2-3 hours to do it all.
Have you already tried to adjust the convergence on your TV?
