RCA .. RT2280 Surround Sound .. intermittent audio cut outs

The audio cuts out for 3-4 seconds on 5 minute intervals .. ( approximate time spans ). The system is an RCA RT2280. There isn't any interruption with the video, only the audio. The repairman cannot find the problem, any suggestions ????
