This tv/vcr combo is only 2yrs old, used for 8mos., then was not used for a year. When my daughter wanted to use it again it would turn on, no pix or snd, just a slight flash on the screen and turns off. No fuse blown, no indication of components getting hot or discolored and no smell. Inside is totally dust free and I checked components and soldering, all check good. Anybody have any ideas what to check for as I am an E/T but not with TV's anymore. Thanx, Acer
For got to say that if you press menu button on remote, a bright blue line appears and then turns off again.
This model falls under RCA's dead end policy. These sets, if they broke under warranty, would be exchanged only, if they're out of warranty you're SOL. There are no parts or service information available to repair these sets. They were never intended to have any after the sale service.

Typical shop labor to repair one of these sets would easily exceed the value of the unit and that doesn't include parts. When a replacement can be had for a $100 or less, why bother fixing the one you have?
At least that's RCA's reasoning for doing that.
I had a similar issue that was caused by the VCR hanging up(out of sequence, belts, etc.) and shutting the set right back down. Worth checking.
