Have a blue ghosting effect on Toshiba Model # TP55F81

Hi

I was recently given a friends old 1998 Toshiba TP55F81 56" tv. I set it up last night and it is great other than a blue ghosting effect on the left hand side of the screen. I came to this website and tried the convergence thing that I saw and that is ok. I also played with the color, tint, contrast, birghtness etc. Got it looking a little better but still a blue ghosting. Am not sure if this is because it is an older tv or am I going to need to spend some money on it to get it repaired. I know with this type of tv there are mirrors and stuff inside it, could that be what it is? Really am not a techi person but am a big tv lover and would love to be able to watch my big tv with out being distracted by the blue hue!! Hoping someone can help me. I have done a search on this site but can not really find anything that will help me. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
