Degaussing (demagnetizing) a CRT

My Sony Trinitron Tv has a problem with the
color seperating. I have tried turning the tv
on for one minute, and off for 20 minutes, 5
times to see if the tv would reset it's self
like a tv repair site on the internet suggested
to me. This did not work so are there any other
things I can try.
