20 inch CRT older model--works fine but will suddenly go completely dead not respnding to any power button then after a while spontaneously comes on--It has given good service for over 20 years and perhaps is finishing it's days. Any thoughts re: other cause?
I'm sure we could speculate on cause, but you hit it right on the head when you said "finishing its days". Unless you're a collector of vintage TVs (funny how a TV from 1985 is considered vintage!) then it's time to move on. Any amount of money invested in its repair is money down the drain.
