I have a Toshiba SD-V391 combo VCR/DVD player that plays every disc very choppy. The DVD's play fine on other players. I have tried using one of those cleaner CD's but that didn't help. There was one time I had to reset the DVD tray because the kids got at it and it was stuck open, but I'm pretty sure it had the problem before that happened.
Any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same issue with a Sony 5 disc CD player. It almost sounds like the cd's are skipping but they are fine in other players. I tried cleaning the lense with alchohol & Q-tips... Didn't help. Yes, please if anyone has an idea of how to fix this or what the problem is caused from, it would be greatly appreciated.
Johnny, how old is the player and how much would you say it gets used? Your best guess.
