Anyone have any ideas why a 36 inch 36PT71 Philips TV would shut itself off after being on an hour? Had 2 techs look at it with completely opposite opinions, so I'm not too trusting.
Philips 27"TV Model 27PT54 3S37A has the same symptom of shutting down or clicks only but won't show picture. To repair check or replace a 47mfd@35V electrolytic capacitor location 2455 with a hi-temp cap. Also solder all parts with cold connection in the vicinity of the horizontal drive transformer & transistor.
Philips TV Shuts Off 4 seconds after turning it on. HELP I have a Philips Model #43PP20217. I cut it off last night & tried to cut in on this morning. It shuts itself off in about 4 seconds. Can anyone shed some loght on this?
First thing , Do you know how to trouble shoot solid state electronics. Do you know how to use a multimeter? Do you know the saftey issues with TV sets and the HI Voltage thats stored inside these sets??? Do you know how to solder and unsolder? Please read this http://www.techlore.com/forum/thread/14639/ Then if you dont hanswer yes to all of the above questions PLEASE call in a pro to assist you with your repair. its not a place for a handi person or a mechanicly inclined person to be experimenting inside of a TV set. Good Luck Please BE CAREFUL!!
If you are a tech and can answer yes to all of the above questions , the first thing would be to check the power regulator IC.. Next would be to get a schematic and trouble shoot the power supply as well as the sweeo supplies. next would be to add start up voltages to see if the Hirizontal circuit starts up and seeds a start pul;se over to the SMPS. Good Luck

are you familiar with philips model32pt5441/37. it has apparently known problem of shutting off.
common fault on lo1e chassis(ukmodels)is the bc337 transistor next to the blue relay in line driver stage.it runs hot and goes base emmiter o/c when hot.look at pcb under it ,normally looks bit dicoulered.
Are big screen is doing the same thing so I will be glad to see some answers come through.
