My Sylvania DVD player loses audio during movie play. It usually plays the preview sound, but after we get interested in the movie...the audio fades and then goes dead. There is no problem with the sound in TV mode.
It happens with all we've tried. Yes, weird! We just did a kitchen remodel and dry wall dust got into every nook and cranny. I had use one of those air gun things to clean out the CD player and a disc cleaner before it would work. Could this be the problem?? How do you clean a DVD player?
I would find it difficult to believe that dust is the culprit in this situation... the problem is just too specific. However, it's always worth a try. I assume you have tried to unplug it for a while?
Another question: You say that it "usually" plays the preview sound correctly. Does it "always" play the sound for previews, or does it cut out occasionally?
