Magnavox Combo Error Codes

I have a Magnavox Combo VHS/DVD player that is only 2 years old. Now when playing either a tape or disc for a period of time everything stops and the LED display shows "ERR 3". Of course the manual and Magnavox tech support cannot tell me what that means. Unbelievable! I can take it to a licensed Magnavox dealer who will look at it for $$. Is it worth it? Does anyone have an idea what "ERR 3" may mean. It might be something very simple. I hate to take to someone or scrap it for something that is inconsiquental.
