I suppose it's better for a 7-year old to play with magnets instead of matches, even if your CRT monitors have to suffer a little bit.
Fixing the computer screen should be easy, there is an integrated deguasser built in to most of them. Find your monitor's controls and check for a function called "degauss". Mine has a specific button for it, others bury it in the monitor's main menu. Hit it, and you should be golden.
Your TV is a different story. The first thing to try is unplugging the TV for about 4 hours. Most TVs have a degauss circuit inside that kicks on when the TV has been reset. This should activate it, but let me know if it doesn't. There may be other options.
I solved the problem on my own, by turning everything off for the night. When I turned them back on in the morning both the computer and tv were fine. Magnets got put away. Thanks for your help Matt.
In December 2005 we bought a new Panasonic HDTV. Just today I think I broke it by putting a 10" subwoofer. Now when the speaker is in front of it it lokks ok but when we move it away, the picture in the top left corner is really messed up. Can it be fixed?

Read my post above for a suggestion on how to degauss your TV. It's the last paragraph.
