How can I get a usb for my camera. I have lost the one that came with the camera. Thanks.
After exhausting my resources for information regarding this camera, I have come up with very little regarding this particular make. Understand, there is very little information available regarding this particular camera.
From what I've been able to gather, the AOL digiCam is a basic digital camera that was released some time ago. I believe most sales of this model ended sometime in 2000. From what I can tell, this is not a USB capable camera, and doesn't work easily with any OS other than Windows 98, providing you still have the drivers available. I know your postings have indicated you had a 1/8" to USB cable, but I can't verify this with any credible documentation.
Supposedly, the AOL digiCam bears a striking resemblence to the Polaroid 320, which could be true based on a few random image shots I've seen. If this is the case, the camera connects with a 1/8" to 9-pin serial port cable, which you may be able to find. However, I have been unable to locate a driver or software package for any operating system.
If all you need is the 1/8" to 9-pin serial cable, you may be able to order one from Polaroid. I cannot guarantee any of this will work considering I can't find any legitimate documentation. If you do attempt to buy one of these cables, I would be interested to hear of your results.
On another note, the AOL digiCam is certainly not a high-performace camera (if comparable to the Polaroid 320, it's 320x240... 640x480 at most). Why not just toss it and buy a really cheap new digital? Anything you buy will easily outperform what you have.
Ok thanks, I think I will toss it and buy a Polaroid 320. mickey36
Wait! That's not what I meant. The Polaroid 320 is just about as ancient as the AOL digiCam. The reason I mentioned it is because they are very similar in design, features, and operation, but both are ancient. I would imagine the only way you could even buy a 320 is on ebay. You really don't want a camera at 320x240 resolution...do you? That's less than webcam resolution.
If you want a cheap digital camera, buy something like the Kodak Easyshare C300. It's up to date, works with USB and Windows XP, takes 3.2MP shots, and it's only $94 bucks at Amazon.
I have a aol digiCam 320x240. I have misplace my cable cord, can you sent a picture so I can what it looks like HELP HELP HELP..............

Hello "Crotch": (what a handle). If you want the cable (it's a serial port cable not a USB)it will be about $8.00 for shipping. My wife will figure it for me. She does our ebay shipping so it will be somewhat accurate. I'll let you know, get back to me. The camera does me "No Good" so I will ship it too, unless you don't want it??? John
I have the Aol digicam camera purchased a few years ago. I have misplaced the accessories for the camera, which included a cd, instruction information and cable. I need to purchase the accessories for the Aol digicam because there are pictures stored that I need to download to my PC.
Thanks in a million.
I look forward to hearing from anybody as the stored pictures are very important to me.
