access denied

I purchased a new Dell computer in May, 2005. I wanted to use the "D" drive cd the same as you would use an "A" drive for Microsoft Word. I wanted to be able to use a cd instead of floppy disc while typing a manuscript. At first Dell techs fixed it so I could then the mother board went out on my brand new Dell and I lost the ability to type a letter "save as" to the D drive. I called Dell now they tell me it is a
software problem and that I should contact the mfg. which is Sony. I told them that Dell was the one that put the Sony D drive in not me. Can anyone help me get rid of the "access denied" format so I can use the "D" drive in Microsoft Word? Thank you Cara Suchman [email protected]
