my Mitsubishi rear screen (CRT) tv model WS-55511 recently just lost its red completely. it flickered during a program and now there is no red at all (things that are supposed to be red are brown). i don't think it's a convergence issue as i understand that to be fine tuning, this is major loss of the entire red spectrum; any thoughts?
Since the WS-55511 is an HDTV, I'll need to know what source this is happening on. Is it happening on a digital cable box, sat box, etc?
If it's a device connected via component video, it may be because the Cb/Pb cable has become loose or disconnected. It's worth a look first.
thanks for the post Matt. Now i turn on the tv and it's working perfectly. It was doing it thru the digital cable (i didn't test it on the DVD). Sure enough i fiddled around back there and one of the component cables was loose on the cable box. Thanks, saved me a service call. Funny i called 2 repair places and neither one mentioned this possibility. Guess i would have paid $85 for someone to come plug in a cable!!
You'd be amazed how often people pay $85 dollars or more to come and plug a cable back in.
