I just recently bought a RCA HDTV (Model -HD50LPW62A) and got it connected to timewarner cable through one of their dvr boxes. After connecting it the screen began to have lines that went bottom to top and alternated between a red tint and green tint. I replaced the cables and it continued; I tried a different component outlet and it continued; I replaced the dvr box and it continued. However, once I connect from the box to the TV through S-video or composit the lines go away. Also, if I connect a dvd player or xbox through component cables into the tv the lines do not appear. I'm so confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did you have the Cable tested for a ground loop or a bad earth ground yet? Take another TV set, if you have one and see if the same thing happens. You may not see it as well as you do the big screen. let me know what happens, good luck
Larry, before I go and ask to borrow someone elses tv, can you tell me if this problem will go away by just using an HDMI cable. If it is a ground-loop problem will an HDMI fix it? Thanks.
Not if the problem is from the outside or incomming cable line.
Larry, Time-warner cameovr and tried the HDMI cable. IT WORKED!!! No Idea how. No Idea Why. But it worked. Thanks for all your help.
