Hello,
I have a Sharp 32L-S500 TV that has stopped working. A few months back, I was watching tv and it suddenly turned itself off. The remote control and power button would not respond at all to power it back up. I unplugged the unit and pressed the power again, this time it would sound like it was coming up, play sound but no video at all, then immediatley turn back off. I would have to start the process over to get the same results.
Now for the strange part. I took the tv to my garage for inspection but didnt get to it for a few months. When I plugged it back in after this period of time, it started working for @ 3 months! Now it has stopped again. I am able to make repairs if I am pointed in the right direction. Any ideas on the problem???
Dry joints in power sup, resolder everywhere.
Silva means bad solder connections. I would look in the sweep and the power supply for bad connections. If you have soldering knowledge, go for it. But I hope you know there is high voltage stored inside this TV set, even when it is unplugged. The best way to find these problems would be to lightly tap on the printed circuit board and try to localize the bad connections or get a schematic and see what your missing and why. Good Luck, and let us know how you make out with this repair.
