Sorry, but really the only way is to replace the screen, unless you have the plastic buffer equipment. I never seen this, but have been told, those disc repair systems that you apply a little compound and use a hand held buffer has worked for a few, as long as the scratches are only small surface scratches.
For external Diamond Shield: Use a foam car wax applicator and Mequiar's PlastX, clear plastic cleaner and polish (incredible for plastic headlight lens scratch and haze removal as well). I do not believe one can remove scratches from the internal screen.
I have a Mitsubishi, 2002 model 65" projection TV with diamond shield. My Diamond Shield had a 6 in long scratch from a board falling across it (not minor surface and not too deep). It also had minor surface scratches from kid's play. I was able to completely buff out the larger scratch and proceeded to buff the entire diamond shield to remove the rest.
What I did: Wet foam applicator, apply a half inch drop of polish (more if a larger scratch) and buff over the scratches in a circular motion using firm pressure initially, reducing pressure as you go and finish up with light pressure until the scratch is completely buffed out.
After buffing I used a wet microfiber towel to clean/remove polish residue and followed up with a dry microfiber towel to remove water spots.

Entire process took around 30 minutes.
