Panasonic CT-36D11 36: I turned my televison on this morning and there was no picture and there was no sound except a high piched sound like it was coming from the back of the TV. The TV would not turn off by remote control nor by pushing the manual button on the TV I had to unplug it.I plugged it into a different outlet but the TV still had no picture just a high piched sound, I have had this TV since March 2001.

Tenn, these are parts in the power supply he is telling you to check. If you do not know what these are my friend, please do not attempt to repair your set, as this is no place to be experimentint around inside of. There will be soldering and unsoldering needed while working on the printed circuit boards. You will also need to have a good ESR capacitor checker meter, a Multimeter, a service manual, and the proper hand tools. These sets have alot of high voltage inside them, even wwhen they are unplugged. Like Silva stated, this could very well be a power supply proble, a Bad horizontal output transistor, and or a problem in the sweep power supply circuit.
